π Bmw Z4 E85 Common Problems
An β04 that I drove until the top motor started to crap out and had a few other problems that I probably should have just fixed. Got a β15 M235i and instantly regretted it. Sold after a year to go back to the Z4 in the form of a 2011 with a stick.
113. My Cars. 2007 Z4 3.0si Coupe. You're better off not heating your garage if the car is covered in salt since corrosion is aided by warmer temperatures. It's not like you will have a completely rusted car if it's in a heated garage, but the corrosion chemical reaction is slowed if it's colder.

Misfire on acceleration and poor performance once warmed up seem the most common complaint. LPFP (low pressure fuel pump) The E89 uses a 'primer pump' inside the tank to send fuel up to the HPFP. You can often hear it start when you turn on the ignition. Again, seems like noise issues are the most prevalent complaints.
BMW Z4 Roof Motor Failure. Roof motor failure is a very common issue on the E85 Z4 as the roof motor resides under the roof unit (frame and canvas) in a plastic container. The roof motor container sadly has quite a design floor, it is susceptible to back filling with water over time due to the main roof drains not being able to take the water away.

It looked good, went hard and had the sort of road presence BMW owners expect of their brand. Where the Z3's lines were soft, its proportions plump, the Z4 had sharp lines that carved out a distinctive shape, and its proportions were tight. If the Z3 seemed tired from the get-go, the Z4 appeared poised to pounce.
The six-speed transmission can feel somewhat notchy when compared to the five-speed, but otherwise problems should be few and far between. Ditto the auto and SMG set-up.
